Overview
NHSScotland has developed SCI Gateway, a national system that integrates primary and secondary care systems using familiar yet highly secure Internet technology. SCI Gateway is fully integrated with the GPASS primary care system, enabling GPs to access SCI services on-line and can also be integrated with commercial systems.

Outpatient booking facility from GP surgery
Immediate confirmation of appointment booking
Provide the patient with a printed appointment letter before leaving the surgery. Alternatively the appointment letter could be posted at a later date
Appointment before referral - an appointment may be booked before full clinical data is transmitted
Facility to send discharge information to the GP including essential clinical information, drug data and treatment advice

System Requirements
Detailed system requirements will be defined at the pre -installation phase and will be a joint exercise between the Trust IM&T representative and the SCI Account Manager. As a high level guide:
